GOAL
Electronic DJ trio, Cheat Codes, and their team approached me with the request for three new single covers. Inspired by the theme of modern renaissance, a historical symbol/object was chosen to be the focus of each single while featuring iridescent tones, textures and lighting. Each cover was modeled from scratch in Blender, touched up in Photoshop, and animated in both Blender and After Effects.

GOAL
Album and single cover art for Toronto jazz upright bassist, composer, and bandleader, Robert Lee. In October 2023, Lee performed alongside the Seocho Philharmonia (Seoul, Korea) and the Glen Gould School Orchestra as part of the Korean War Memorial Concert at Koerner Hall (Toronto, CA), conducted by Jong Hoon Bae. He performed with world-renowned artists Sumi Jo (soprano), Jens Lindermann (trumpet), and Matt Catingub (piano). Robert also performed on the Juno Nominated album “ Little Bit a’ Love” by vocalist Denielle Bassels.

GOAL
The only request from the client was to make the animation “epic”! And so, I aimed to achieve that high level of energy and excitement by blending 2D and 3D techniques. For covers such as “Pump It Louder”, I re-built the text in Cinema 4D to animate and “inflate” the letters and then added a balloon texture. For “The Motto,” I added various camera shots and movements within Cinema 4D and did the finishing touch-ups in After Effects.

GOAL
The strategy with animated artwork was to enhance the marketing potential of each music release. By adding motion to static work, the artist’s music was able to reach audiences on a more engaging level. These animations were formatted for all digital and social platforms including: Instagram, Spotify, YouTube, Facebook, Apple, and more.
